Style 550 is manufactured from the extremely strong and long plant fiber RAMIE. These strong and smooth fiber structures are combined with PTFE lubricant producing a packing with an extremely low coefficient of friction which assists with break-in and reduces sleeve wear. It is used in all kinds of water, sea water, brines, oils, weak acids and alkalis. It is very resistant to abrasion.
